In a sun-drenched corner of the city, there was a girl who forever lived in a LOVE STORY, unlike any other. She named it Laila’s Luminescence, a tribute to its founder, Minal, who created her own kinda LAILA and she envisioned it with LAILA’s imaginations, whose creative vision had transformed the world of fashion.

So here we tell a tale of our LAILA….

 I always imagined that “Laila had always been enchanted by the romance of far-off places and the ethereal beauty of nature.”  This collection is a stunning amalgamation of my inspirations and imaginations of LAILA : the flowing elegance of Moroccan and Turkish designs, the serene luxury of resort wear, and the magical allure of the Aurora Borealis.

It all began on a crisp autumn evening when I was browsing through the latest issue of Vogue, stumbled upon collections from Moroccan and Turkish designers. The intricate patterns, opulent fabrics, and timeless elegance captivated her. But it was a photograph of the Northern Lights—an image of celestial splendor that danced across the Arctic sky—that ignited a spark in her imagination.

Inspired by the fusion of cultures and the breathtaking natural wonder, I envisioned a collection that would embody the romance of distant lands and the tranquil luxury of a resort escape. I always dreamed of creating garments that not only embraced the grandeur of traditional ethnic wear but also celebrated the comfort and freedom of modern fashion.

This collection, aptly named Laila, is a masterpiece of design. Our kaftans and coord sets are crafted from the finest silks and flowing crepes, each piece a testament to her dedication to both elegance and comfort. The kaftans were adorned with delicate embroidery and beadwork, inspired by the bright palette of Moroccan tiles and the intricate designs of Turkish ceramics. Each design will tell a story, weaving together threads of romance and cultural heritage.

The coord sets, on the other hand, offered a more contemporary twist. Featuring high-waisted trousers paired with breezy, oversized shirts, combining the ease of resort wear with the grace of traditional silhouettes. The fabrics flowing effortlessly, draping the body in a manner that is both flattering and liberating.

The palette of Laila’s collection is equally mesmerizing. Shades of deep indigo and scarlets and corals evoked the night sky and the serene waters of a luxurious resort. These colors were complemented by accents of shimmering silver and soft gold, reminiscent of the Northern Lights that had first sparked her creativity.

I chose a picturesque place while designing LAILA, I sat with my coffee mug  at our open-air terrace overlooking the skies, its ambiance enhanced by the soft glow of lanterns and the gentle murmur of birds. The setting in my head was designed to echo the essence of a tranquil resort, where guests could escape their daily routines and immerse themselves in the splendor of Laila’s designs.

As the models took to the runway on the photo shoot day, wearing the exquisite kaftans and coord sets, the TEAM and I, myself was transported to a world of elegance and allure. The fabrics seemed to ripple with the grace of the Aurora Borealis, each movement capturing the essence of the celestial lights. The flowing silhouettes and intricate details created a visual symphony, blending cultural richness with modern comfort.

A renowned travel photographer whose work often featured the stunning landscapes of Morocco and Turkey. He was captivated by my ability to merge LAILA with these diverse influences into a cohesive collection. “Your designs are a revelation,” he said, his eyes reflecting the same awe that how Laila would feel when she first saw the Northern Lights. “They carry the essence of distant lands and the magic of the Aurora, all while celebrating the comfort and ease of modern wear.”

I smiled, my heart was swelling with pride. “That’s exactly what I hoped to achieve. I wanted to create something that speaks to the romance of travel and the beauty of the natural world, all while making comfort a priority.”

The excitement of the launch is overwhelming. Hoping Laila’s Luminescence will gain a reputation for its unique blend of tradition and innovation, its garments celebrated for their beauty, comfort, and the stories they told. Each piece from the collection became a symbol of the magic that I tried  capturing in my designs—a tribute to the romance of distant lands, the serenity of a resort escape, and the awe-inspiring beauty of the Aurora Borealis.

My vision of LAILA had come to life in a way I had always dreamed, I wish to continue to inspire others with my creations. LAILA will always remain a testament to the power of blending diverse influences into something truly extraordinary, a reflection of the endless possibilities that lie within the realms of creativity and love.
